The Essex show went well. I displayed most of my available work. I think I had the largest (most space) section out of all the participants. I had a lot of visitors, too many to keep track of. I ran into someone who said they were related to a lobbyist they were gonna try to share the Obama Inauguration Tribute with. We'll see where that goes.

I met a handful of people there: Lisa, Shelly, Chip, Tim, & of course Juli & Sean. Juli & Sean are both in one of the photos of the event.

So I finished a few small paintings about places I wish I'd been to but I'm having a bit of trouble getting to: Paris & Hawaii. Well, technically I painted them in a fashion to be a bit generic so it could be any European-type café & white-sandy palm-tree lined beach, but I knew what I was thinking when I was making them. I don't think I can be sure I truly captured their essence unless I went to see 1st hand. Is there anyone out there willing to foot the bill so I may do this job-related research?

I know every day tens of thousands of people die. Probably millions of people pass between the rare times I say I knew one of them. A friend of mine who has had a very unique life lost his brother through accident (not a car accident). It got me thinking about how him & his brother shared so many similarities (not just households, they shared much of the same unique burdens) & knowing that one person who probably knew your childhood the best was now gone is one of those particularly painful losses. My heart goes out to him & his family.

Until next time people, be safe, be honest, savor, rinse & repeat (yeah, I'm quite aware those are conflicting mandates but that balance is what life is about).
