Technical oops…
Well, the blog update that went up on the 11th never showed. It's already archived. Dag nabbit! I hate it when that happens. Also, there may be some opportunities for artists, read below!

Hey all,

So I'm particularly excited about the upcoming Jazz Festival. The Full Art Spectrum has partnered with the downtown Coffee Emporium to have our first collaborative event there during the Jazz Festival. There will be collaborative artwork as well as poetry, musicians, and more if we can make it happen. It will be on Fri, July 30th, and the artwork will be up for about a month afterwards. Each one will have its own story.

Lately I've been going out to the Newport side of the Purple People Bridge going over the Ohio to do some drawing. I was lucky enough to get these two to be my drawing subjects. I decided to take on the challenge of still letting them move around. So during the whole time they just basically sat there but still talked, talked a bunch of silliness, & I believe enjoyed themselves. I didn't get to finish (that's why this isn't an official entry into the art gallery) due to the Sun setting after about an hour. I think I got their general likeness.

We had the latest Full Art Spectrum meeting last weekend. This time it was at the intersection of Mills Ave. & Carter in Norwood. Our new home is 1801 Mills but they are associated with the owners of the former restaurant at 1766 Mills & it may be we'll be at either one depending on availability. All the same, they're right next to each other so it's not a big deal.

During that meeting we talked more about what we're going to do about the collaborative event for the Jazz Festival. It was great to see some familiar faces who hadn't made it out before & to have met some very interesting people I hope to see more of.

I have a few pieces I'm working on that were requested. I'm hoping to get them finished within a month but sometimes I just get carried away with detail. Let's see if I can get it done!

P.S. Natural Awakenings is looking for cover art for their annual Creative Expressions issue in September. Contact them for information!

Thanks!
